KRAFTWERK - COMPUTERWELT

For me personally at a time of Punk and British heavy metal although both listened to and not hated the early 80's for me was the sound of Electro, both from the US and Europe. On a European vibe Kraftwerk were untouchable right from the mid/late 70's. As a young teenager the Electro sound would soon ignite the interest in Hip Hop and the cool DJ scene that went with it.
This 12" is becoming increasingly sought after, as it features the tracks Number's and Computer World which are sequenced together, and is the only release other than the album 'Computer World' where the two tracks are mixed into one. This pressing is a lot louder and crisper than the album, which obviously makes it great for DJ's.Once heard, it's hard not to expect the sublime strings of Computer World to drop in at the end of Numbers, pure classic, uplifting, and seriously German electronics. The mix of Computer World on the a-side features a breakbeat, or a more two-step beat than the original, and is the only place you can find this mix other than the EMI promo UK LP.
